yes, my father was told also to drink cherry juice, it does help it, and also he was told to not drink soda, it irritates gout.
Yes, it’s proven to help alleviate gout symptoms but not cure it.
Eating fresh or canned cherries (a half pound a day) may help keep gout at bay by reducing levels of uric acid. Some people swear by them; and a small study conducted many years ago found that eating cherries may indeed lower uric acid levels.
An easier way to get the benefits of cherries is to take 1,000 mg daily of cherry fruit extract pills (available at health-food stores).
Strawberries, blueberries, celery, or celery seed extracts may have a similar beneficial effect.
Yes it works and he doesn’t have to limit it to 2 oz a day.
He can eat cherries, cherry syrup, cherry juice, cherry anything.
without sugar is best.
Also he needs to cut down on rich foods, protein, caffeine, sodas,
foods to avoid/cut down on

Foods to eat
Eat plenty of food that fights uric acid such as the cherries,
vitamin C, green beans, high fiber (whole wheat and grain)
yes cherries work. here are a couple other things that will work listed on this site
My uncle never let a day pass without drinking his 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon honey in an 8oz. glass of water to prevent his gout from recurring. It helps alleviate or prevent but not cure. A good try to cure it is wheatgrass. The key is to make your body alkaline through wheatgrass. also avoiding the forbidden foods while you’re at it should help.
My uncle has Gout problem all these while. I keep seraching for an alternatives to prevent it happen.
I was very glad to find this article as it gives me good knowledge about Gout treatment. Hope it will benefit your father too :
